Chicago

For our first series of the 2009 season, we traveled to Elgin, IL to take on the Chicago Bandits. I think we'd all agree that we would have liked to come home with more wins but we definitely had some positive efforts. The highlights to me are Dede's homerun off of Finch and overall our defense looked good! As a pitcher, it's definitely tough when every hitter you face in this league deserves respect at the plate. I'd say the main difference between college and the NPF is exactly that. In college each team you face has just a few of those hitters. In this league it's every single athlete. As it should be. It's not a pitcher's game. You might shut a team down one night and then next time you face them they're all over you. It's important to play each game in the present rather than worrying about the past. "Be here now," as our new mental coach Jen Croneberger says. And that's exactly what we're going to do in our series starting this week vs. Chicago. Be. Here. Now. Let's go Force!!!
